Welcome to the Sugar Grove Historical Society!

The Sugar Grove Historical Society will be open on Saturday, July 26, during Corn Boil weekend from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. We invite you to stop by, enjoy the air conditioning, indulge in a cookie or two, and sip on a cold drink. Additionally, you can watch the film “The Many Lives of the Bliss House,” which documents the 1997 relocation of the Bliss House from Bliss Road to Main Street.

Located in the heart of Sugar Grove, Illinois, we’re a local organization dedicated to preserving and sharing the rich history of our village, township, and surrounding areas. We are proud to call the historic Bliss House Museum, dating back over 180 years, our home.

Located at 259 Main Street, it provides a perfect setting to explore the stories that have shaped our community since its founding in 1834. Our collection offers a window into the past through artifacts, vintage photographs, and personal documents.

Whether you’re a longtime resident, a curious visitor, or a history enthusiast, we invite you to step back in time and discover the people, places, and moments that have defined Sugar Grove.

We look forward to welcoming you — and sharing our history with you!
