Dear Ruth Frantz,

I thought you would like to know:

Ashe Road was named after the Ashe Family who owned a farm on that Road. The Ashe name ends with an "e". I'm sorry we don't have much history to pass on to you. Hopefully, someone in Sugar Grove can remember the family and add more information. I'm glad the photos have a home - the original album was in tatters and there was no protection for the photos if left in that old album I had to put them into protective plastic pockets.

Eve Finley (John Finley's wife)
Hinkley, Illinois

To Miss Katherine Ashe from Bill.
Merry Christmas and a victorious New Year.

Her I am with my little Irish girl, Margaret Mooney. She was brought here when she was 3 weeks old and she was 9 months old Monday. She has blue eyes and red curls and is adorable.

*******
These are Joyce and Tommy. There was 3 days difference in their ages but they were both here on their first birthday and were so cute together that I called them my twins. Still have Joyce and she sure is a mischief.

*******
This is my Indian. His mother is a full blood and his father is part Cherokee. He is seven months old, weighs 20 pounds and is about as dear as any baby I ever saw. Wouldn’t you say it is Mattie holding him? We must grow to look more and more alike.
